Day 4 – Ray’s Reflection

Day 4 – Ray’s Reflection

On Thurs morning, we went to the Makhtesh’im (the Crater) for morning devotional. This natural wonder is expansive … like a smaller Grand Canyon … but very different and unique. It was actually a mountain which eroded to expose mineral deposits and valleys and hills within the crater itself.  We were given a time of personal reflection to meditate on God’s awesomeness.  I could see it in the crater … His handiwork, His beauty, His power, His greatness.  I did not see any flaws.  I could stare at this for hours.  And yet my eyes kept drifting to the left … to my fellow travelers spread out over the rocks. What was God trying to tell me?  That He sees each of us – every man, woman and child, myself included – as more wondrous and valuable than any natural wonder He has made. Wow! Do I see myself like that? Do I see each individual that I meet like that? Lord, help me see each individual I meet with even more awe that I see the Makhtesh’im .
