Day 7 – Works of God Jun 4
Today we continued to explore the area around the Sea of Galilee. As we visited the various sites, we took time to contrast the “works of God†and the “works of man.â€Â We visited two ancient Roman cities in which we saw a stunning display of the works of man. The only problem was that they were all in ruins. Cities of the most powerful ancient empire on earth, destroyed in 7 seconds in an earthquake in 749AD. The works of man may be impressive for a time, but with one shake from the Lord, it all toppled.  After thinking through this picture, Pastor Brian reminded us that our cities looks a lot like the Roman cities. Which begs the question… What are we trusting in; the “works of man†or the “works of Godâ€? After see this, we had the opportunity to see how Jesus wants to use our stories to reach those who are trusting in the temporary works of man. He did this by showing us the impact that one man can make. We ended the day praying in the Jordan River and blessing God for all that He is doing.
